Humanness

Today I found out a friend of mine lost her daughter to a terrible tragedy… She was 19. I have been devastated by the news. I have become so much more human since I’ve had a baby. I don’t know what to do with all my tears.

I last saw her sweet little face 10 years ago. She played and enjoyed life as children do. That is how I remember her.

There are three things that I know when death takes someone from us.

1. Sometimes silence and a hug is all that is needed for those that grieve. Leave the bitter platitudes at home.

2. Laughter is indeed the best medicine.

3. We never really say goodbye, only So Long….

To my little friend that departed sooner than we would have liked…so long sweet Carrie. You are loved.

    Jeni,

I’m so sorry… for you, and expecially for a mother who lost her child. I can’t imagine anything more devastating. My heart goes out to you and your friend.

How sad. It’s never easy to lose someone, and especially someone so young, and near the holidays too. 😦
